His own story: six years old, or five?
His own organization’s page and his authorized biography both say he was five when he saw the 1978 bus bombing.

On a 2025 podcast he says: “I was in a bomb attack when I was six years old.”
His own organization’s page and his authorized biography both say he was five when he saw the 1978 bus bombing.
This is the first line of the story told to donors. Small details that differ from the record are worth asking about.
The proof
Their statement: On the Momentum podcast (published Nov 9, 2025), at about 7:46, Eli Beer, President of FOUH (the American fundraising arm), says: “I was in a bomb attack when I was six years old.” The episode opens with the same line.
The record: The organization’s own Hebrew page about him says that in 1978 he was five years old when he witnessed the Bus 12 attack in Jerusalem. ArtScroll’s authorized biography, 90 Seconds, says the same in Chapter One: “For five-year-old Eli…” JTA’s report from the time dates the attack to Friday, June 2, 1978.
Which is it? Six, as he said on the podcast, or five, as his own organization and his biography say? A small detail, but it is the opening line of the story told to donors.
